Thomas C. KERNS

Thomas C. Kerns was born July 15, 1857, near Sligo, Penn., and died in Table Rock, Neb., Aug. 17, 1900, aged 43 years, 1 month, and 2 days. The deceased came with his parents to our state when he was ten years of age, and has resided among us ever since. After the death of his father he was a great comfort and support to his aged mother. He was very fond of his mother's home.  His suffering during the last year of life upon the earth, was intense, causing him to say: "I am tired of this old world, I would like to go home," and lying down to rest, his weary soul taking on wings, flew away to that blessed Home, where there is no sorrow. Text, Job xiv;14: "If a man die, shall he live again?"

We desire to express our thanks to the people generally, and to the United Workmen lodge, particularly, for the kindness shown during the illness, death and burial of our son and brother.
